The Drawbacks of being a Beginner

Are you a beginner when it comes to the game of poker? If so, this is the same place that every other poker player started his or her career. If you think that professional poker players started at the top you are wrong. Ask any of them and you are sure to hear some funny stories about how they got their start. Just like any other game that you may want to take part in, when you start playing poker you will be a beginner and will have to deal with what goes along with this. The good thing is that once you are familiar with your surroundings you can move on from beginner to poker stud!

Beginner Drawbacks

The number one drawback of being a new poker player is that you will probably have to deal with a high level of frustration. The fact of the matter is that when you are new to poker, or any game for that matter, you are going to be faced with a learning curve that can sometimes be difficult to get past. While this may make you want to quit, you need to make sure that you stick with things. Quitting is not going to get you anywhere. In fact, you will probably be disappointed in yourself later on if you give up so easily.

Another drawback is that you will have to deal with the elitist attitude that some advanced players have. If they can tell that you are new to the game they may attempt to intimidate you in more ways than one. This is something that you will just have to deal with. The key is to make sure that you do not get too caught up in this. If you do, you will end up forgetting about the way that you are playing, and in turn give your competition the advantage. This is what these “poker bullies” are trying to do to you. So instead, just ignore them and do what you can to stay on track. And remember, if you beat a poker bully a couple of times they will stop their arrogant ways in no time at all.

Finally, consider the fact that as a beginner you may lose more money that you want. There will be a time when you will eventually have to start playing for real money. When you do this as a beginner you will probably make some mistakes which will lead to losing a bit of money. This is nothing to get all worked up about and something that you should expect to happen. Just make sure that you do not put yourself in a real bad position by betting too much money, or getting yourself into a bad financial predicament.

Overall, there is no denying the drawbacks of being new to the game of poker. But even though there are some things that you will have a hard time dealing with, if you know what they are you should be able to contend with them in the best way possible.
